Job Title: Director of Governmental Affairs 
Reports to: Executive Director

Statement of Purpose
The director of governmental affairs provides leadership and direction for the State Bar’s Legislative Program. They are responsible for developing, managing and implementing strategies for legislative issues of interest to the State Bar and communicating with Bar members about relevant legislation affecting the legal profession. The director also serves as a liaison to the Georgia judiciary and other legal stakeholder groups at the Georgia General Assembly.

About the Bar
The State Bar of Georgia exists to foster among the members of the Bar of this state the principles of duty and service to the public; to improve the administration of justice; and to advance the science of law. All persons authorized to practice law in this state are required to be members.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the State Bar’s elected leadership and Board of Governors to develop and implement the organization’s government relations strategy.
  • Identify and track key legislative issues of concern to the practice of law and the operation of the state’s judicial branch.
  • Assist the State Bar Sections with drafting and strategizing potential legislative initiatives.

Job Title: Client Assistance Program Paralegal

Statement of Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide paralegal support to the CAP director to execute the responsibilities of CAP of the OGC. Job Title: Audio Visual Coordinator

Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate all tasks pertaining to A/V maintenance and functioning of the Conference Center at the State Bar of Georgia and assist the Savannah and Tifton offices remotely when needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of all technical operations on the Conference Center floor.
  • Install and set up audiovisual equipment for events and presentations daily.
  • Maintain building digital signage to portray appropriate scheduling and floor plans daily.

Job Title: Program Coordinator

The program coordinator facilitates the development and production of continuing legal education (CLE) programs for members of the legal profession.
